When my great aunt and uncle

celebrated their 50^th anniversary,

surrounded by gold, glittery things:

goldware, jewelry, candy dishes,  

Aunt Ruth picked up the napkin holder

my cousin made of popsicle sticks

and spray painted gold, announcing,

“This is my favorite!”
