Poem Away octave letter l humor

Not for Her Cooking

He thought his bride a bit loopy
To create a lunch so soupy
She lacked a lot in cooking skills
With a lick, promise and some pills
Her spills made up a messy lake
Her lip would pout and praise he’d fake
Was no limit to her mistakes
He learned to laugh at fallen cakes

Poem Away Pyramid, PA learning

Learning to Say No

I learned
through injury
the world will not combust
if I don’t get my to-dos done.
Though dishes stack up and floors gather crumbs,
the world will keep on spinning one day at a time,
reminding me even God rested on the seventh day.
And Jesus said that His yoke is easy and His burden is light.

Poem Away McWhirtle, green

Lacking a Landscaper

Green is the grass growing
Out in my yard today
City will complain soon
Warn of a fine

Elm trees are growing up
Bushes are flourishing
I cannot work out there
Till strength is mine

poem away left-handed, lento

Now a Leftie

Pain has rendered right hand useless
Straining to type my poem
Main thing is to take the challenge
Gain as left fingers roam

I watch them dance across the keys
Flying on a new path
My right hand rests off to the side
Sigh! Done, spite of pain’s wrath!

Poetic Bloomings blog title

Enthusiastic Soul

If you meet me face to face,
You may have to guess at what I’d say,
For I usually keep things to myself.
You may think me down or bored,
Not excited for the Lord,
A wall flower or some object on a shelf.

But deep inside, I’m grinning
And the wheels above are spinning,
And my soul whirls about in glee.
Because I am not alone
I am part of the Lord’s home;
His Spirit resides right inside of me.

Jesus died and made me whole.
I have an enthusiastic soul,
No longer bound by sin, but free.
Someday it might leak out
And I’ll actually give a shout,
Till then, it shows up in poetry.

Poem Away Keat's sonnet, amorphous

Pain’s Haze

My days have become amorphous,
without shape and form.
Oh, maybe a vague pattern around meals.

What to do and when becomes nebulous.
Naps and pain have become the norm.
This unstructured life disorients.

It’s hard to describe how it feels.
I don’t want to be down or make a fuss.
I sleep in a hot bath till lukewarm

And pop anti-inflammatory pills.
Pardon my discontent.
It’s been a month since I hurt my arm.

Getting little done, my days are spent.
Jesus, please heal me and keep me from harm.

Morning thoughts

Still believing
God sees me
Loves me
Answers my prayers
Despite pain
