Birthday Party

Birthdays

were usually

a family thing

but I remember

one birthday-

Was I ten?-

when Mom

invited several kids

from school.

We had games, balloons,

cake and ice cream,

and I got lots of presents,

one, I still remember,

a doll with blue hair.

Sounds like a typical

birthday party,

but it was magic to me.
