Summer
Fling
She
was counting on him,
her
ear practically pasted to the phone
waiting
for a message that would make
her
heart race faster than a sports car engine.
Her
life was empty
until
that summer.
Now
she craves him and his
serenading songs like chocolate.
She’s
no quitter.
She’ll
hang on to the memories
left
life fingerprints on her heart,
until
light chases away darkness.
