Horsey Sam
Spring rocking horse named Horsey Sam
I got when I was three
He rocked and squeaked and jounced and bounced
I rode so jauntily
And then my sister came along
And we rode him double
Then she kept Sam for quite a while
Till size became trouble
She passed him to my nephew Tom
He galloped ‘cross the range
My daughter then came next in line
So Horsey made the change
Passed Horsey Sam on to my son
And for a time he rode
And when he grew too big for Sam
Two nieces took him home
Through several kids and fifty years
At last I got Sam back
But he no longer has his springs
And makes a fine hat rack
