Poetic Asides name

Lori Ann

When it came to pick a name for our first born,

we borrowed it from a little girl in our Sunday School Class

who was always eager to hear about Jesus, Loriann.

We didn’t feel it necessary for yet another name

so we had Lori Ann recorded on her birth certificate.

We called her Loriann up until she turned twelve

when she realized that her first name was Lori.

So no more Loriann, she made it clear

to all around that was not her name.

Still some people will call her Loriann,

but she refuses to respond to it.

So essentially, she named herself.
