Mrs. Teachers
In first grade, Mrs. Adams was
Like Grandma, big and kind.
We mostly played with blocks and things
And little for our mind.
In second, Mrs. Alberta,
She scowled a lot, so sad.
She said God looked in the window
To see if we were bad.
In third grade was Mrs. Galbraith.
She’s one that I adored.
She learned I needed glasses when
I couldn’t read the board.
In fourth grade Mrs. Graff, I liked.
She read stories and rhymes.
She introduced Secret Garden
One chapter at a time.
In fifth grade, Mrs. Donahue,
Her voice was very loud.
She’s lots of fun and full of spunk.
Of students, she was proud.
In sixth grade, Mrs. Robinson
Was sour from inside.
They say that her old husband had
Committed suicide.
It takes all kinds to make a world.
That goes for teachers, too.
But somehow they taught many kids
And helped us make it through.
