It Was Not a Hurricane
Six hours of
pushing
Persevering
Giving it my
all
Shouting to be
heard
Above the
roaring
Battling the
blasts
Driven,
determined
To rise above
Chaos and
confusion
Feeling
exhausted
And battered
At the end of
the day
Brain fog rolls
in
It was not a
hurricane.
Just a day out
in nature
with a dozen rambunctious
six-to-nine-year-olds.
