Our Autumn Wedding on PA Lawn
Her hair was not
what she had dreamed.
Her dress was
borrowed from a friend.
Long-distance date
came to an end.
Two-thousand
miles, two years, they schemed.
They came together
as redeemed.
Leftover hippy, still
some wild,
He wore a beard,
no more a child.
Cream suit, white
shoes, no tux or tie.
They pledged
their love till one would die.
In Christ and Earth,
their date was filed.
