Poem Away Terza Rima sonnet

Our Techie

A visit with our son last week
Resulted in a worthwhile time.
He’s known as a computer geek.

His gadgets often ring or chime.
He helped us out on each device.
What I don’t know could be a crime.

I can’t complain about the price.
And now I have more gigabytes.
His explanations are concise.

Now I can quickly search the sites.
And have more time to write a poem.
His help is one of my delights.

I hate to see our son go home.
We’ll see him next time, when we roam.

Poetic Blooming, the box, Poem Away Spenserian Sonnet

The Box

The Lord held out a large, old, dusty box.
I looked at it and wondered, “What’s inside?”
He smiled and gave me keys for all the locks.
“So open it,” He said, His smile was wide.

What if I wasn’t smart enough, if tried?
Or could it injure me along the way?
Perhaps it would strip me of any pride.
I stood there, still not knowing what to say.

A guessing game is what I’d like to play,
or see the future instantly and clear.
Should I dare open up the box that day?
If so, how would I conquer every fear?

I didn’t have to know what was in store.
Just had to know and trust my Savior more.

Poem Away Stress Matrix Dectet, purple

Picking up Purple People

Our church youth group, about to paint the bus,
thought “the purple-people-picker-upper”
unique and fun and sounded good to us.
But some argued purple people transfer
was not what this good church had in its mind.
Yes, all common skin tones , we would chauffeur.
So we chose yellow-green just to be kind.
Christened “screaming yellow-green church machine.”
though calling it “the bean” we became inclined.
But we’d pick up purple people if seen.

Poem Away Rictameter

Moonlight
Indigo sky
Dark, shimmering water
Dock stretches out in balmy air
Lights begin to twinkle on distant shore
Couple in silhouette share kiss
Glorious beginning
The spell was cast
Moonlight

Poem Away Nove Otto

Relaxation

Four lawn chairs lined up in a row
To watch the sail boats come and go.
I dream of sailing out to sea
Past pines and hillsides ‘long the beach,
Where sea gulls fly and humpbacks breach
With cool breeze blowing light and free.
But here I sit so locked in land
And only dream of sea and sand.
I’m glad that Pinterest has no fee.
