Residual Joy
A beach trip memory, my child
Enthralled with waves and sand and fun
Red swimsuit drooping in the sun
And splashing in the surf, so wild
Adventuring past knees, so brave
Then running, screaming from a wave
Today, I thought of this and smiled.
