Bright crisp morning beckons.
Golden aspens rattle their song.
Brilliant blue sky welcomes us.
Towering pines tremble.
Magnificent mountains demand admiration.
Busy river rushes by.
Cairns mark the path.
Boulders begrudgingly allow us to pass.
Cheery trekkers greet us.
Rabbits and squirrels dash off.
Deer and elk hide.
Tall falls spritz icy spray,
while we lunch.
Sun bids farewell.
Muscles breathe a sigh of relief.
