Beginning with Faith

I eagerly begin this year

With lots of love, belief and hope

Inviting courage, banning fear

I know, with You, I’ll always cope

No matter what will come my way

I trust You listen when I pray

With lots of love, belief and hope

I place my hand safely in Yours

Forgiveness cleans my soul like soap

Your grace will open many doors

I aim to love folks like You do

And let Your wisdom see me through

Inviting courage, banning fear

I put my confidence in You

Delighting in that You are near

And will reveal Your point of view

I have great reason to rejoice

As I discern Your still small voice

I know with You I’ll always cope

Because You teach me what is best

When troubles bind me like a rope

You set me free and give me rest

I can’t succeed at life alone

So I come boldly to Your throne

No matter what will come my way

You’re big enough to face it all

And though I stumble or I stray

I know You’ll help me when I call

You are my all and everything

You are my reason I can sing

I trust You listen when I pray

Because that’s just the way You are

I often don’t know what to say

Your Spirit is my guiding star

So with some eagerness and cheer

I look ahead to this new year
