As Junior Suns Himself
I have a friend I get for church,
For she’s confined to a wheelchair.
And every time my heart’s a-lurch
When on her step, her dog lies there.
It might be more than she can bear,
If that old dachshund up and dies.
I’d turn ‘round, if I didn’t care,
Just so I wouldn’t hear her cries.
