Pearls
To
defend against irritants,
marine
oysters
and
freshwater mussels
secrete
aragonite and conchiolin,
making
layers of nacre,
and,
over time, form pearls.
Pearls
can be silver-white,
orange,
green, black or pink.
Rare,
valuable, and beautiful.
Some
friendships are like that.
