Happy Place
When hiking through the woods with friends
Admiring pines, cliffs, and blue sky
And watching elk run through the field
Fresh air to breath, a mountain high
My travels whether near or far
Boat rides, jet planes, fast trains, ebikes
Exploring castles and old towns
Cliffs, oceans, deserts, forest hikes
When happy children get along
And give me pictures that they made
When puppies and cute kittens play
Relaxing with friends in the shade
A difficult project completes
“We’d like to publish this,” email
Painting, writing, dancing on porch
Good conversation, lots to tell
An extra pound or two is lost
A healthy, satisfying meal
Hot tea with cream and sugar cubes
Nice clothes that fit with a good feel
When singing hymns, making up tunes
A movie with some fine romance
Worship at church and hubby’s hugs
A cheerful song with which to dance
Understanding, encouragement
And people with a humor bent
