Free? Are You Kidding?
My sister and I had a fantastic time
touring Scotland and
Ireland,
but still, we had difficulties.
In the middle of the night,
after a wonderful medieval banquet
in a well-kept castle from the
1600’s,
my sister had to be rushed to
the hospital,
"one of the best" in Ireland, for a week.
The first couple days, she
had her own room
until it was determined she
wasn’t contagious,
then she slept on a stretcher
in a crowded hallway.
Then up to a ward with many
patients
with a bed and a chair and
curtains in between,
though she was still on the "trolley" for a few days.
It was nightmarish to have to
leave her there.
We also visited the Isle of
Skye in Scotland.
It was said that not many
young people lived there.
They had to move out to
attend their free colleges
because they couldn’t afford
cars.
Free medical care, free college,
free income under government control.
No thank you, the cost’s too
high.
