My mom’s
grandma
came from
England
when she
was three.
Today,
Mother’s Day,
Sis and I
are in England,
thinking
about Mom
and the
little quirks
she had
that were passed down
from her
English grandmother,
like
sugar and cream in tea,
going by
Mummy not Mommy,
and
calling an underpass a subway.
Sis and I
watched Lion King, the musical,
and ate
at Rules, a London restaurant
founded
in 1798.
It seemed
like Great-grandma
was right
there with us
eating
Yorkshire pudding.
