Remix of Tell Me a Story
Tell Me a Story
My little daughter said to me
Tell me a story please
So every night I’d tell her of
My home among the trees
Of my four sisters, cousins, too.
Of playing hide-n-seek
Of walking on our homemade stilts
And splashing in the creek
Of sled-riding and snowball fights
Pretend games that we’d play
Like Gilligan Island or spies
And playing lawn croquet
Of how we got our Duppy dog
Of hayrides on back roads
Of the all-girls Sunflower club
Of catching frogs and toads
I would tell them and retell them
She knew them all by heart
Yes, she fell in love with stories
Right from the very start
