PAD What Next

 From 1 Thessalonians 4: 16-18

 

The Lord Jesus and the archangel will shout

with the blast of the Heavenly trumpet.

Those Christians who died will resurrect

and we believers who remain on the earth

will join them in the air with Jesus Christ.

Then we will all be together forever.

Be encouraged! He not only saved us from sin,

but has promised us eternal life in Heaven.

 What’s Next Today

 

Lord willing, I’ll paint the last bit

of my remodeling job of the house.

I’ll hang up some pictures on the wall,

family pictures in the hallway,

and some paintings in the bathroom.

 

I’ll write a third “what next” poem.

I’ll take a walk on this sunshiny day.

I’ll play my ukulele, learning “Hey Jude.”

I’ll figure out how to play, “I Look to You.”

I’ll do ballroom dancing exercises.

 

I’ll make meals, do dishes, debone turkey,

read, and kiss my hubby on his head.

Hot bubble baths, autumn breezes

Writing, singing, making art

Mountains with snow on top

Fragrances of lilacs in the spring,

turkey baking, and fallen leaves.

Happy Celtic or Classical music

Playing my songs on my ukulele

A hike amidst tall, swaying pines

Boogie boarding in the ocean

Large crowds worshipping God

Family and friends near and far

PAD 25-3 exaggeration

 Saving the World

The world was coming to an end.

I went deaf as I ignored the phone.

It rang a thousand times

as I worked myself to the bone.

 

Sorting a million wires

that were stored in a thousand boxes.

It looked like a mastermind puzzle

twisted by sly, old foxes.

 

As the time bomb ticked away,

I somehow got a hunch.

The world could wait for later.

I was starving for some lunch.
