First Line Poetic Bloomings

 The Scars

 

I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

No one likes to think about their Tod,

Time of death.

But we all know it will happen.

It’s happened all through history.

No one can deny it or escape it.

 

There were two, though, that did.

Enoch who was no more because God took him.

And Elijah who went up to God in whirlwind,

in or with a chariot of fire drawn by horses of fire.

 

Our Tod is when our religion is tested.

It’s no longer a list of dos and don’ts

Or rights and wrongs

Or churches or philosophies.

 

Is what we count on dependable

like Elijah’s whirlwind and chariot

to get us safely to the other side?

I believe Jesus is,

since He’s been there, done that,

got the scars.
