Birds of a Feather

Birds of a Feather

Birds of a feather flock together
And pick at those outside
We’re shocked at this behavior
But regardless, it does abide

We pat ourselves on the back
When we accept other colors of skin
But we may look down on the poor
Then back to the behavior we go in

Or it could be cultural differences
It could be what we believe
It could be what we eat or wear
Our shoes or the length of our sleeve

It could be what country we’re from
Or the style of the language we speak
It could be our social standing
A jock, diva, or geek

There are so many differences
It’s hard to get along
So we huddle about in like feather
And sing the same kind of song

In one way, we’re all the same
In this, we’re aboard the same bus
No matter what the difference
We’re wary of those not like us
