The good that happens

is often overlooked.
While news watchers gasp at tragedies,
a band of Twitter users
organize aide.
While others complain about injustice,
Facebook friends post petitions,
making a difference.
While some wait for a rich uncle
to die to help the poor,
online people pool pennies
and donate thousands of dollars.
Just like fire can burn down buildings
or cook food and heat homes,
social media can build up
or destroy. It just depends
on how you use it.
