Poetic Asides Set, Poem Away French Sonnet

Set Time

But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship. (Galatians 4:4-5 NIV)

The time was set for virgin birth.
The Lord did favor Mary, so
He sent an angel that she’d know
her Holy Son was of great worth.

It must have been a scandal when
an unwed teen turned up that way.
Elizabeth out loud did say,
“You and your child are blessed,” and then

“The babe inside me leaped with joy.
“You’re blessed believing for that boy.”

And Mary thanked God for her Son,
“God blessed the humble not the proud.
“Great things He’s done and has allowed.”
And so she birthed the Chosen One.
