The Kenyan Moon
A bright full circle
contrasted the indigo sky,
casting enough light
to show elephants
and acacia trees
on the pale blue horizon.
Three silhouettes of tall, sleek giraffes
stood before the whiteness of the moon
their long necks angled
differently from one another.
