PAD 27-1 Remix

Waiting for an Opening

At times to find an opening
within a conversation is like
Jesus’ proverbial camel
going through a needle’s eye.

So you let the person babble
while you nod and say, “Uh huh.”
You’d like to jump in and comment,
but it proves to be tough.

At last you find a tiny hole,
but your resolve is no more.
Too tired to break into the house
through a dachshund’s doggy door.
