PAD 16-3 Response poem

When I am Gone

Shel Silverstein

When I am gone what will you do?

Who will write and draw for you?

Someone smarter-someone new?

Someone better-maybe YOU!

Dear Shel

I may not be smarter, better or new.

But, Shel, I like to write and draw, too!

So now that you are dead and gone,

I’ll take up my pen and carry on.
