Poetic Asides Half Way

I’m More Than Half Way

I’m more than half way to the end
But I don’t know what’s ‘round the bend
Will it be all downhill from here?
Or mountains till the way is clear

I’m glad, on You, I can depend
You are my Lord, but also friend
I know You’ll rise up and defend
You are the one I hold most dear
I’m more than half way

With obstacles I may contend
And sheer, tall cliffs I must ascend
But with my God, I need not fear
And you will wipe away each tear
To break the ribbon, I intend
I’m more than half way
