Summer Road Trip
Back to Ohio and Nebraska
I’ll be gone most of June
I’m visiting three of my sisters
I can’t say I’ll be home soon
I started in Colorado and drove
Spending the night in a hotel
I made it to Nebraska the next day
I was tired, but it went well
Sis two and I visited Sis one in Ohio
She’s getting up there in years
We had a good visit for six days
And then left shedding tears
Summer solstice, Sis two and I
Were on a Missouri highway
We drove nearly twelve hours
Pleasant weather, but a long day.
Staying with Sis three in Nebraska
Then I’ll be off to Cheyenne
To visit my husband’s family
At least, that is the plan.
Then on to my Colorado home
But I will stay only one night
And then I’ll head to Arizona
In the morning when it’s light
I’ll stay with my kids for a week
Which is where Hubby has been
The heat will be in the hundreds
His patience may be wearing thin
So June will be about gone
When we arrive home
But I hope summer traveling’s not over
How I do like to roam!
