Two More Cuties
Allie took Selah to Camp
And left Remmy with Linda and me
I’d forgotten how energetic
A little child can be
We took him for a walk
And swam in a wading pool
It was getting hot and sticky
So we did it to get cool
Sis and I tried working on stories
But impossible with Remmy there
We had salad for lunch
To end my time with Linda Baehr
I drove to Lincoln WalMart
For a gift to be Rosie’s
Next time I come she will be born
I bought a suit with posies
Judy and I picked up her grandkids
First Charlie and then Margot
They played with Judy’s gifts
It was like watching a comedy show
She had bought little shooters
That popped out plastic balls
They went flying through the air
And bouncing off the walls
Then we met their parents
At a nearby Village Inn
The antics of the children
Made us laugh and grin
Soon it was time to go
We took pictures and said goodbye
Knowing the kids will be different
Next time that I come by
Judy and I went to her house
To spend our last night together
With another day for me to drive
And prayed for good weather
But my two in-law families
Advised me not to come
Maybe it wasn’t a good time
And that I should hurry home
Judy and I played Splendor
Then watched Mike’s last slide show
I was a little confused about Cheyenne,
Not sure if I should go
I decided to wait till morning
And perhaps it would be clear
If I should stop in Cheyenne
And see those folks so dear
