PAD 25 unusual word

Prestidigitator

One night, my sister’s husband
tossed and turned in his sleep,
apparently having a nightmare.

She gently shook him.
He turned to her, still asleep,
and said, “Prestidigitator.”

She had to look it up.
It means one who practices
sleight of hand.

We are all still amazed
at how a word like “prestidigitator”
can pop out of someone’s mouth
while they’re sleeping.
