PAD 25 unusual word

CWM

Cwm, a remarkable word using w for a vowel.
Pronounced like coon except ending in m.
Meaning an amphitheater-like valley
formed by a glacial erosion—also cirque.

I came across its use in the book,
“Blind Descent” about a man
who survived descending
Mount Everest alone and blind.

I’ll probably never climb Mount Everest,
but I’m glad to discover the word “cwm.”
